counter-demonstt^trons are virtually on a 'round-the-
elock basis, is a.thrilling experience, for townfolks and

Often, it is 'most .too thrill-
ing. whichever side you are
on. Many tourists, alarmed by
TV and press stories of race
violence, are steeling clear and
not seeing St. Augustine this
seison. The Fact*thai piacre-:

been aimed at Ncgroe*. newsmen, and cops doe> riot seem
to make the tourists feel any
safer.
Neither do the nocturnal
